Rolling Along!

Travel With Balls is rolling along!  Last week, a woman named Kimberly Kubalek watched the TWB video that my brother Paul had posted on his Facebook Page and got in contact with us.  Kimberly is a website designer who does beautiful work (you can check out one of her creations as well as the house she rents out in San Miguel de Allende, Mexico at www.casadepancho.com).  Because she has lived in Central America much of her life, Kimberly understands just how important soccer is to kids in developing countries and she offered to give our website a facelift for free!   So look for a new and vastly improved TWB site in the days to come.

This past Friday, Rita Golden Gelman, author of Tales of a Female Nomad and human being extraordinaire, wrote a wonderful blog about us and featured links to this website and our TWB video.   (Click here to read the January 6 endorsement of TWB: http://www.ritagoldengelman.com/home.html   )  Rita has a large and loyal following of friends and fans around the world so this is indeed good news!

Just as hoped, our Travel With Balls t-shirts provoked quite a bit of curiosity when we wore them to Saturday’s Travel Club Meeting.  There wasn’t much time to socialize before the presentation on Madagascar but the people who approached us to ask about the shirts loved the idea of TWB and Odette Ricasa, the leader of the club, invited us to make a 15-minute presentation at next month’s meeting in Pasadena.   (The meeting is on Sunday, February 5 at noon and the featured country is Poland — if anyone would like to attend, contact me at z2hebu@yahoo.com for more info.)  The folks who belong to this club travel constantly, so we’re really excited about the prospects of expanding the ranks of the TWB team…the more people giving out soccer balls to kids, the better!

Our shirts continued to elicit interest at the Scandinavian Film Fest and when people came up between screenings to question us about their meaning, we were happy to launch into an explanation and press a TWB business card into the palms of their hands.  One woman who works as a publicist was so enamored of the Travel With Balls concept that she offered us some pro bono advice and now we’re looking into printing up a TWB promo postcard that we can distribute to advance our goal.  And we all know what that is — the GOAL is JOY!

Peace & Blessings,
Jan
